Blaze
===== Description =====
In Blaze, you play as a lone spaceship fending off endless waves of enemies in order to survive as long as you can and achieve the highest score possible. To defeat these enemies, you must charge straight into them with your BOOST ability and head-butt them into oblivion! See "How to Play" section below.
===== How to Play =====
- Avoid being hit by bullets, as they will increase your ships HEAT LEVEL, as indicated by the bar at the top of the screen.
- When your ship reaches the MAXIMUM HEAT LEVEL (the bar goes full white), your ship will be destroyed and one of your three extra lives will be lost.
- The BOOST ability allows you to dash into enemies and collide with them, in order to destroy them.
- The SHOOT ability allows you to fire at missiles chasing your ship close behind.
- BOOST and SHOOT will also heat up your ship, so don't overuse them.
- Chaining kills together will increase your score multiplier so the best way to play is through speed and precision.
===== Controls =====
- MOVE: WASD Keys
- BOOST: "O" Key
- SHOOT: "P" Key
===== Tools Used =====
- Unity 5
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- Photoshop
- GarageBand
NOTE: For the best experience, I recommend you download the game to avoid WebGL's graphics and audio compression and to increase performance.
P.S. I'd love to hear any feedback you may have, especially as this is my first upload to itch.io, so feel free to share your opinions and ideas in the comments. Thanks!

This game is really good! The screen shake, particles, and sounds feel really great. I can tell you took your time to polish this! If I had to be really picky, I would say to switch the boost and shoot buttons, because I'm used to left clicking to shoot in games, and the O and P keys kind of feel like buttons on a mouse. I would also get a different font for the UI to make it more interesting.
Hi BobGames1215, I’m glad you like the game! In a future update, I will add the ability to flip the controls (alternative control schemes) and maybe update the UI too. Also, I should mention that the particles were made using the Ultimate VFX toolkit by Mirza Beig (here’s a link: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/vfx/particles/ultimate-vfx-26701). I’ll add this to the main project description too. Thanks again!
